It is a chemical based paste. A chemical para-phenylenediamine (PPD) is included in small amounts in black hair dye will be added to paste. The addition of PPD dyes the skin quicker and makes the tattoo look more like a permanent tattoo. Jagua henna is made from the dye of Jagua fruit which stains blue-back. Jagua Henna paste is made by mixing henna powder and jagua juice. The most common 2 mixtures that you can find are 50% (Brown Jagua Henna) and 90% (Black Jagua Henna). The difference between black jagua henna and brown jagua henna is based on how much Jagua Juice is used in the mixture.
.Allow the paste to remain on the skin for 6 to 8 hours. The Jagua portion of the mix will stain fast but the henna portion will need time to stain in order to receive the desired stain. If you do not leave the paste on for long enough you may just receive the same blue stain as Jagua Gel.
.Peel off dry henna paste gently (DO NOT WASH).
.Jagua henna will first appear very light grey and slowly develops and final stain (dark grey/blue/black shade for black henna or a cool tone brown for brown henna) will be after 24-32 hours.
.Avoid water for 24 hours.
.Apply a thin layer of Vicks Vaporub or Vaseline. This will protect your design from washing off easily.
